KITH!'s mission is to assist individuals and families on the Eastside who are caught in a homelessness crisis. Whether people are living in their cars, are housed temporarily in shelters, or are facing eviction, KITH! will work with them to stabilize their situation. KITH! is able to make referrals, provide homelessness prevention resources, provide transitional housing and ultimately provide or assist in securing permanent low-income housing.
KITH! makes use of market rate apartments, co-signing or subsidizing rents. KITH! also owns 16 units of permanent low-income housing and 4 units of transitional housing.
At the heart of KITH!'s program, in addition to the provision of a roof over head, is case management. Case managers work with participants to establish goals, which will eliminate the homelessness crisis and assist in the return to self-determination.
KITH! also partners with a wide range of community programs and agencies to provide program participants with a full inventory of help.
KITH! has provided over 550,000 bednights of safe housing. 50% of the families and individuals we partner with are in transitional and resettlement housing and the other 50% are in permanent low-income housing. KITH! also works with an additional 100-150 families each month providing limited case management assistance.
